STEREO SKYLINE TO RELEASE DEBUT
FULL-LENGTH ALBUM “STUCK ON REPEAT”
Band is named an Alternative Press “Band You Need to Know”
Currently on The Bamboozle Road Show Tour
Follow-up To Self-Released Digital EP
Summer will be even sunnier this year - and more blond - thanks to Long Island based power-pop foursome, Stereo Skyline. The band will release their debut full-length album, Stuck On Repeat, on July 20th. Grabbing one of the coveted slots on the Alternative Press “100 Bands You Need to Know in 2010” list, the band follows in the tradition of fellow Islanders Taking Back Sunday and Brand New, but with more of a pop appeal.
Taking an old-school DIY approach, Stereo Skyline, comprised of Kevin Bard (lead vocals/ guitar), Brian Maddox (bass), Clayton Johnson (guitar) and Rob Michelsen (drums), has spent the better part of the past 2 years building a solid fanbase through both non-stop touring (250+ dates) and aggressive online outreach.. The band’s self-released EP has sold 12,0000 copies while also generating OVER 150,000 digital track sales.
Through catchy melodies and heartthrob lyrics, Stereo Skyline’s popularity has continued to grow among teen hearts at a rapid pace which has translated into a substantial online following for a band so young (singer/songwriter Kevin Bard is only 19 years old). “If we are having fun singing it, you should have fun hearing it” says Kevin. “There is just too much negative music floating around.”
Stuck On Repeat was produced by Blake Healey (formerly of Metro Station) and also includes production work by S*A*M and Sluggo, aka Sam Hollander and Dave Katz (Metro Station, Boys Like Girls, Cobra Starship, Katy Perry). Healy also co-wrote the infectious first single “Tongue Tied” – for which a video was recently shot. An equally notable track is “A Little More Us,” which was written with the Oscar-nominated Grammy-winner Adam Schlesinger, as well as S*A*M and Sluggo.
Stereo Skyline’s already impressive touring history took another step forward this spring as the band secured a slot on this year’s Bamboozle Road Show, which features pop-punk heavyweights Boys Like Girls and All Time Low. In 2010 alone, the band has already completed both the Take Action and the Class of 2010 tours. The band will follow the Bamboozle tour with their first ever headline tour, aptly named the “Stuck On Repeat Tour.”
The band will also be featured in a new episode of MTV’s “Silent Library,” airing in late June.
